An Evening to Support “Save the Children” relief efforts for children and families devastated by the earthquake in Haiti.
One week after a 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti and left 70,000 and many more dead and wrecked immeasurable damage to this country, one of the worst effected are the children.
Save the Children is dedicated to bring relief efforts during this hour of emergency. The scale and complexity of this disaster are enormous, and children and their families are still struggling to find the basic necessities of life. Food, water, shelter and medicine are in short supply. The threats to children's health and well-being grow every day they do not receive help," said Annie Foster, the team leader of Save the Children's emergency response. "While we face infrastructure and logistical challenges, they are not insurmountable. We are doing everything we can to bring supplies into the country and deliver them to those who need it most." To support this enormous effort of relief Cooking for Life and Market Cafe invite you to an Evening of Live Jazz, Hors d'œuvre and Wine from some of New York City’s Favorite Restaurants. All donations are to be made directly in favor of “Save the Children”
When and Where: Sunday, January 24th, 2010 (6.00pm to 8.00pm) Market Café 496 Ninth Avenue, New York, NY
